Quick Birthday Cards

I realized I had 2 birthdays the first week of February that I had forgotten about with all my laryngitis nonsense! I really didn't feel up to making cards though. What's a gal to do?
This card was for my little 6 year old cousin, so the more glitter/sparkle the better right? I already had the zebra cut out and glued together thank goodness. I cut the glitter paper slightly smaller than the pre-made white card I was using. I bought a huge pack of white pre-made cards from Michael's for such an occasion (ok maybe not but it sounded good). I used Robyn's (aka My Pink Stamper) cheater method for the ribbon that you can learn how to do HERE. I stuck the zebra on and called it good!

The second card is for a wonderful friend's birthday.
I already had the deer cut out and glued as well, so that's why I used it! Also I was looking for any opportunity to use the "Hello Dear" stamp I got from Michael's for $1.00. I took out  another pre-made card and some paper from Target's dollar spot.  I glued the cute little deer onto the card and tied a ribbon around it. Done and Done!

Oh and in case you were wondering, the Zebra was cut from the Cricut Cartridge "Create a Critter".
The deer was from the cartridge "Cindy Loo".

Football Card

It's official. I have a new favorite card! I've been wanting to use the football cut from the "Wrap It Up" Cartridge for a while but I wanted to find some cool paper first. Tonight while at Hobby Lobby I found it! And it was 50% off!! I of course had to use Gator colors because it's my favorite team. :)

Valentine's Hedgehog Card

While looking at the submissions to the linky party on Someday Crafts I saw THIS and it inspired me to create this...

I am actually making several copies of this same card for all my nieces and nephews for Valentine's Day. My camera was not behaving so I'm not sure if you can really tell that the paper behind the hedgehog is a light pink.

Recipe:

Paper: I used my scraps so I'm not sure
Punch: Martha Stewart
Cartridge: Create a Critter, Heart is from George & Basic Shapes
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink

Thinking Of You Card.....

One of my very best friends received some bad news this week and so I made her a "Thinking of You" card. Actually my sister Farris and I made this together. She got a Cricut for Christmas and so I was teaching her about layers, etc.

Celebrate with Flourish Card

I have been wanting the "Celebrate with Flourish" for a really long time and I was so excited to use it! Here is a birthday card I made with it for my brother in law. Once I figured out the layers, it was really easy to put together.

Recipe:

Cartridge: Celebrate with Flourish
Paper: Provo Craft and DCWV

Classic Car Card (Say that 3 times fast)

Ok, this is officially my favorite card ever! I love how this classic car turned out for my Dad's Birthday Card. The colors are so much fun and I love the inking around the edges.

Recipe:

Cartridge: Wrap It Up
Paper: Honestly I'm not sure! I got it from Michael's a while back, sorry!
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink
Stamp: My Pink Stamper

Sheep Birthday Card

My Mom is obsessed with sheep, so of course I made her a birthday card with an adorable sheep on it! This is one of my favorite cards ever. I love that you can see the sheeps wool popping out a little bit. The bow is supposed to be on the sheep's neck but I liked it on her head instead.
Recipe:

Cartridge: Country Life
Paper: Bo Bunny and DCWV
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink
Punch: Martha Stewart

Bow Fail

I tried doing a new bow and it was a total fail. It might look ok in the first photo, but then in the second photo you can see that it ripped the paper and the card is on the verge of falling apart. Oh well, now I know not to do it again. I loved the card though! The "Just Because Cards" Cartridge is such a great cartridge, especially for people who love to make cards. The cuts are very simple to layer and turn out so cute!

Cartridge: Just Because Cards
Paper: Bo Bunny and Provo Craft
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink

Sympathy Card

My brother in law's Grandmother died this week and we are close to his family, so I made his mother a sympathy card.
It was my first one but I think it came out nicely.

Give a Hoot Card

I got 4 new Cricut Cartridges for Christmas! B is for Boy, Give a Hoot, Celebrate with Flourish and Life's a Beach. I am a lucky girl! I needed to make my Mother in Law a birthday card, so I tried out Give a Hoot. It's a really fun cartridge with the most adorable animals! I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the paper behind the hummingbird.

Gypsy

I picked out my own present from my husband this year for Christmas, we do this sometimes :) I found a killer deal on a Cricut Gypsy (handheld design studio) and it came with 7 free cartridges! I have really enjoyed playing with it and it's already helped me make cards faster. Here is the first one I made with it. It took me a super long time because I didn't know what I was doing yet, but I love the card!

Card Pack

Here is card pack I made for my friend for her birthday. It has her initial on the front and the inside is empty, so that it can be a card for any occassion. I made 10 that coordinate, using the Cosmo Cricket Vintage Paper Pack. Using SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) it was really easy to print things in multiples and then just put the cards together.

Here are the 10 cards and envelopes in a cello bag

Birthday Card for Phillip

Here is the birthday card I made for my nephew Phillip with the "Wrap it up" Cricut Cartridge. I knew this "gaming remote" would come in handy when I saw it on the cartridge! It was really easy to cut out and I know he is going to love it.

Cartridge: Wrap It Up
Paper: Provo Craft

Country Life Birthday Card

Tonight I made a birthday card for my Aunt using the "Country Life" Cricut Cartridge. I love this cartridge!! My Aunt has a business that includes sewing so I decided the vintage sewing machine would be perfect. I also used this new vintage paper I found at Hobby Lobby that I am obsessed with. It comes in a Double Deck and is made by Cosmo Cricket. Here it is.....
Recipe:

Paper: Paper Trey Ink Cardstock, Patterned Paper is by Cosmo Cricket
Ribbon: Paper Trey Ink
Cartridge: Country Life
Stamp: My Pink Stamper "Friends and Family"

My Pink Stamper Challenge

My Pink Stamper (my crafting hero) is having a color challenge and I made this birthday card for my submission. I have always wanted to enter one of her challenges but I have never had time before. In order to enter you had to make a card with 2 shades of blue, 2 shades of pink and use black. I have a very hard time choosing colors so it was kind of nice to have them chosen already for me :) Click HERE to see all of the other entries! Here is my card....

Birthday Cards

Thankfully I only have 2 birthday's to make cards for in December! Because in January I have 6!! I had fun making these cards with two of my new cricut cartridges.

The first one is for my Grandmother and she loves to knit so I made her a non-traditional birthday card with knitting needles on the front. The knitting needles are from the cartridge "Country Life". I forgot to take a picture of the inside but I used the "Happy Happy Birthday!" stamp from the Everyday Occasions Set from My Pink Stamper.
Her stamps are the BEST by the way, worth every penny!
I love that red paper (can't remember who makes it but I got it at Michael's) and have been waiting to use it. And of course I used my new Cuttlebug to emboss the white paper. I think my grandmother (I call her "Nanny") will love it!

The next birthday in December is Doug's Dad, Jim.
I wanted to try out my new cartridge "Wrap it up"
It has some really great cards in it. I did a simple
Birthday Cake and then used Stickles on the flames.
It made them look so great! I cut the "Happy Birthday" wording out from the cartridge "Zooballoo".

Cricut Cards

I love making cards with my Cricut! I took advantage of the black friday prices on cricut cartridges and got a few more. I have only bought one cartridge the whole time I have had my cricut (1 year) so I had 3 cartridges total (I got 2 when I got my Cricut). It was killing me not to buy more but I wanted to get a good deal! Here a picture of some cards I have made recently and my new cartridges!

What I've been crafting......

Here is what I've been up to the last few weeks. I finally finished a 4th of July tea towel I started awhile back. I bought the tea towels at Wal-Mart and ironed on the stars. Then I stitched around them. Very easy!

I made the "Be" Blocks at a craft night one of the girls at church organized. We sanded the blocks, painted them black, sanded the edges, then put the vinyl sayings on. Also very easy!

My favorite thing to do these days is make cards. I made the one that says "Hi" for a lady at church I visit once a month (called Visiting Teaching). The card that says, "Love Ya" is for a friend at church who is in the hospital. The card with penguins that says, "You Rock" is a sort of get well card for my sister Francis. The animal card is just for my stash, it will probably be part of a baby shower present.

I will try and take better pictures in the future! These are from my phone. Please email me or leave a comment if you want to show what you have been crafting or find a great idea on the web!
