Remember how my friend Ryan decided he really wanted to be on "Free Prints Wednesday" and he even went so far as to make a facebook group devoted to it? Well, it's his birthday and the group did hit 102 followers so I decided there was no better time to introduce the world to the great artist, Ryan Hallett...
This work of art is entitled " It's a Puppy"

Y'all just remember you saw his work here first :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!

B-O-O Banner

After putting up some of my Halloween Decorations on top of my entertainment center, I realized I needed a banner to go behind it. I made one in less than an hour and it was so easy! Here it is...

And here is how to make your own...

Materials:

  • Burlap. I got mine at Joann's, it's super cheap!
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie (fine tip and normal)
  • Card-stock
  • Twine

Directions:

1. Make a template/stencil -

I cut out a triangle on my Cricut that was 7 inches. Then I found a font I liked and printed BOO. You could easily do this on your computer as well.

2. Trace 3 triangles onto your burlap using your fine tip sharpie.

Because of how rough burlap is, you will have to make small marks until it forms a line. Or you can use your normal sharpie and then use the other side of the triangle so that you don't see the big black outline.

3. Cut out triangles

4. Trace letters onto burlap using fine tip sharpie

5. I was going to fill in the letters with paint but then I thought it would look the same and be much easier to just color them in with the normal sharpie marker! I'm a lazy crafter, I'll admit, but it still looks great!

6. Thread your twine through your burlap. It's really easy to find big enough holes in burlap to thread through, but if you can't find one exactly where you want it, make one by moving some of the burlap threads out of the way :)

This project was easy, cheap and quick!

And the banner looks great with my other Halloween Decorations!

I hope you will try and make one, let me know if you have any questions!

I am linking this project up HERE

Halloween Decorations!

Just a year ago, I had almost no Halloween decorations at all! I had tons of fall decorations and pumpkins but nothing spooky :) I decided to throw a Halloween Party last year so I spent a lot of time making Halloween Decorations for it. Now I'm collecting Halloween decorations like a crazy woman! Thankfully they have almost all come from the Dollar Tree :) They had some GREAT decorations this year! I haven't finished all my decorating but I did get a few spots in the house totally done and wanted to share!

Top of our Entertainment Center
I'll tell you where I got everything in the up close photos below...

Picture of Man (that changes) - Dollar Tree
Crow - Dollar Tree
Ghost - Wal-Mart (last year)
Black Candelabra - Dollar Tree
Spanish Moss - Dollar Tree
Spider Picture - I made it! Here's a tutorial on a similar one
Green container - garage sale
Glitter black spider - Wal-Mart (was not impressed with any other decorations this year)
Runner - bought years and years ago, not sure where.
Black Crow Photo - Free Printable from Blooming Homestead
Owl Candle - World Market
Subway Art - Free Printable from eighteen25
Pumpkin - Hobby Lobby (years ago)
I just felt we needed to see that cute owl up close :) I am in love with him! I got him over the weekend.
Here is my little side table.
Please ignore the excess spanish moss under the candle :)
Huge Candle & Plate - Walmart (years ago)
Orange Berries - Wreath (not sure where purchased) that I put around the candle instead of hanging up
Owl - World Market
Flowers - Michaels (years ago)
Seriously so in love with that owl! And it has a votive candle built in.
Picture of woman (that changes) - Dollar Tree
Candle Holder - Part of my normal decor
Skeletons (that I broke into pieces) - Dollar Tree
I was looking for just skeleton heads for this but couldn't find any. I'm really happy with the skeletons and the spanish moss though!
Oh and see that BOO banner? Come back on Monday and I'll share how to make it!
